Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy matters to me. I follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and my professional code of ethics to keep your information safe.

1. Who I Am

I am Kelli Beloff, a qualified counsellor in private practice, registered with the Australian Counselling Association Reg # 18516. This policy applies to all services I provide, whether in-person, by phone, or online.

What I collect:

• Your contact details and emergency contact
• Relevant health information you choose to share
• Brief, factual session notes

How I use it:

• To provide counselling and manage appointments
• To respond in emergencies
• To meet legal and ethical obligations

Confidentiality:
What you share is private unless:

• There is a serious risk of harm to you or others
• I am legally required to disclose information
• I have concerns about a child’s safety
• I discuss my work in supervision (your identity is protected)

Storage & security:

• Paper notes are locked away
• Electronic files are encrypted and password-protected
• Records are usually kept for 7 years (or until a young client turns      25)

Your rights:
You can request to see or correct the information I hold about you.
